Dec. 11th, 2012 12:28 pmEighty two and a half percent of the time, Violet didn't think she was doing any good. Not as Dr Fiore, but just as Violet. She'd never been to war, she had only ever seen the aftermath -- first her dad and now Jake -- and for the most part, she thought that she wasn't helping because she just couldn't understand something like that.
But the other seventeen and a half percent of the time, he'd smile or say something silly and she'd laugh and her brain would mark that down like it was a point and those points made it worth it.
She tired to be quiet as she padded barefoot down the dock. Tried being the keyword there. About halfway down she mis-stepped on a plank and fell with an "oof!", scrambling back to her feet easily like she was used to it and absently brushing the dirt off her skinned knee as she kept walking. At the end of the dock, she sat down and passed over a plate.
"Made you a sandwich."
